Some of my earliest memories of watches have nothing to do with luxury timepieces. Growing up, I was constantly asking my parents for a new G-Shock. Whether it was a bright red model or a white one, there was a good chance I’d be wearing it to school every day. Even then, I viewed watches as more than tools for telling time, they were an essential part of an outfit and one of the few accessories that could express personality without saying a word.
That appreciation was shaped in part by my grandfather, who never seemed to leave the house without a watch on his wrist. It was a small detail, but one that left a lasting impression. To me, a watch became synonymous with style, character, and attention to detail.
Years later, while casually browsing online one evening, I stumbled upon the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table. At the time, I knew almost nothing about Roger Dubuis. What captivated me wasn’t the brand name, it was the craftsmanship. The level of artistry and imagination behind the piece was unlike anything I had encountered before. I found myself researching not only that watch, but the world that created it.
That single discovery led me deeper into horology, where I developed an appreciation for the history, innovation, and craftsmanship behind some of the most respected names in watchmaking. From Rolex and Patek Philippe to Audemars Piguet, A. Lange & Söhne, and countless others, I became fascinated by the stories, traditions, and engineering that make each watch unique.
